Mary Shelley's Frankenstein

This novel is something you really have to put time in and sit down. You also have to have good amount of focus because it takes you for a ride if you really want to get taken into a story. Mary Shelley created a story about a monster that is made from parts from different and random dead bodies. Along with bringing into existence of the creature, he desired a companion for the sake of not feeling lonely. Wait, I forgot to explain who created the individual which was none other than Dr. Frankenstein himself. I believed that this particular story was what made science fiction stories so fascinating. One of the thought-provoking elements that make this story a gothic one is the fact that it has a monster in it which is one of the key elements into making a gothic, horror, and science fiction.
The way how I perceived this story was the fact that Frankenstein got accused of murdering a man. Which made me think of other stories that had that setup and usually is the whole plot of the book or film in all honesty. Mary showed to be very gifted with coming up with a way to write this novel in such a creative way. I feel that it was written in a personal narrative that she wanted to tell in her own way. The story was a very intriguing and I really enjoyed the novel and kept me interested all the way through the story.

  1. After reading the post, I do agree with the fact that it is a fascinating story based on recurrent themes such as the id (the Monster embodying that representation of Frankenstein).
